April 2013
Awakening to April!
Sun challenges showers.
Routine challenges powers
for new poses.
Flowers warming up yoga-esque.
Early attempts wilt, tilt.
Repeat first steps.
New balancing act.
Limbs intact.
Utthita Trikanasana grows to Ardha Chandrasana.
Sun no longer shy!
Tadasana strong!
Mountain high!

Greetings SMYC Yogins!
Spring is the natural time of year to reflect. I hope as all of you reflect on your yoga practice that you feel GREAT! You worked hard all Winter and it shows! Many of you can feel the difference in your postures and your posture, your strength, endurance, and balance. Your courage and enthusiasm to do the work and move forward is inspiring and heartening. I want you to know this for a couple of reasons…
First, as many of you know, the Iyengar Yoga Association of So CA here in San Diego, IYASC-SD, in partnership with the our national association, IYNAUS, is having our Open Conference at the Town&Country Resort in San Diego this May. The theme “SarvaBhaumaYog” means “Yoga, Universal to All”. I encourage all of you to try to attend; you’re ready! Your standing poses are strong and poised; nearly all of you have a shoulder stand you are doing and many of you for close to 5 minutes! These abilities will give you a leg up at the Conference. While still Level 1, you can consider yourselves prepared Level 1 students. Also, doing yoga in a large group with Sr Iyengar teachers will be such a great experience. Spaces are filling fast so sign up today!
For registration and info: SarvaBhaumaYoga
Second, many of you are at a place in your yoga that you should increase to 2 classes per week. Classes progress throughout the week (even Level 1), week to week, month to month and so on. This will bring a continuity to your personal progress. If you’re unsure just ask!
Keep an eye out for NEW class times to be added to the schedule…
Winter 2013 Survey…As a result of your overwhelming
response regarding our schedule, look for our e-blasts announcing 2 NEW classes coming very soon.
Thank you again everyone for participating in SMYC’s Winter Survey 2013. We are growing and your feedback is essential. You are each a strand of the energy that is SMYC.
Enjoy Patti’s April poem…feel the Spring in your practice.
Amnesty continues…SMYC has declared amnesty on everyone’s class card, no matter how long you’ve been away. If you have any questions, please email or call 760-533-9713.
Come on back, we miss you!
